Anonymous asked: I believe in personal technique and style. Once a photo is taken, I don't believe in photoshopping, adding in additional lighting, and what not. Once a photo is taken, that should be the end of the picture or else the personal style and technique is taken away and the original beauty of the photo is entirely diminished. However, that is purely my opinion and you can completely remain ignorant towards my beliefs. Now my question; what are your views on photoshopping your photos?

I won’t be ignorant towards your beliefs because I completely understand them. However, for me it doesn’t have to be the end of the photo. I personally see the use of Photoshop as thinking outside of the box, if used correctly. When in post production, I like the challenge to manipulate the photo to a whole other medium. Change the overall tone and feel of the photo as a whole. But ‘nowadays,’ I am becoming a lot more less reliant on Photoshop, and am embracing more of a natural/raw feel. Photoshop is just the new technology that everyone has grown into using, progressing as photography progresses. I do agree that personal style/technique can be taken away with editing, but it really depends on the execution and how well the photo is further defined. Til this day, I use photoshop more than 75% of the time, and the duration of editing is generally becoming much and much smaller.
